🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳
Woohoo! Our 2026 True North nonprofit website grant cycle will open for applications soon!
Please read the requirements below with application details at the bottom of the page.
Free websites for nonprofits? Really?
Yep! Pixel Lighthouse works exclusively with nonprofits and has since Day One — so we get it.
We know how many hats you’re wearing. We know the struggle to continually raise funds. We know that on an always-full plate, something as daunting (and, let’s face it, messy) as your org’s website is often pushed to the side.
More than that, we know how many deserving nonprofits lack the budget to get the website they need.
That’s why created the True North nonprofit website grant.
What is the True North nonprofit website grant?
The ultimate deliverable of this grant is, of course, a bright and shiny new website — but this grant isn’t ONLY about giving away free websites for nonprofits. (After all, if “free” was all that mattered, any old website would do.)
Instead, what we’re offering is Pixel Lighthouse’s tried-and-true process, which we’ll go through together hand in hand.
In the end, you’ll walk away with a fresh, custom-designed nonprofit website that could only be YOURS. One that:
- Tells your story more memorably
- Reflects your unique voice and approach
- Inspires visitors to act (and makes it easy to do so!)
- Is easy for many-hats-wearing staff members to manage
- Lays a foundation for flexible growth over time

More about Pixel Lighthouse
Pixel Lighthouse is a small, family-owned nonprofit website agency built on a decade-plus of experience in web development, brand messaging, and content marketing.
We’ve seen first-hand how many deserving nonprofits simply cannot afford the professional level of work needed for an effective website, and we wanted to do our small part to change that.
Note: We do a lot of pro bono consulting as time allows (see our Free Office Hours if you’re interested!), but the True North Nonprofit Website Grant is the only large-scale pro bono project we offer.
What nonprofits say about us
“Pixel Lighthouse built the website of my dreams. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer, more attractive site for our organization.”
“Our updated website is relatively new, but we’ve already noticed an increase in donations.”
“The website launched just over a week ago…we have seen a five-fold increase in people who are reaching out to us.”
“Pixel Lighthouse completely exceeded our expectations and did an incredible job telling our story through our website.”
“The outcome of our website has been absolutely incredible. We’ve had positive feedback all across the board.”
“The success that we’ve received with visitors coming to our website has been above 100%.”
FAQ
What is the True North nonprofit website grant?
This is an in-kind website grant for nonprofits (with an approximate value of $10,000).
The grant includes the key highlights of any Pixel Lighthouse project partnership: website strategy sessions, custom website design, copywriting for the homepage, and website development (plus QA, testing, and launch of course!). In short, this nonprofit website grant includes everything a nonprofit organization needs for a beautifully revamped website that tells their story, grows their community, and drives action.
What do I need to submit to apply?
Applying for the True North nonprofit website grant is as simple as filling out an online form. The application includes roughly 8 short-answer questions about what you do (and how a new website would help you do it better). Along with your answers, we’ll request documentation to prove your tax exempt status and length in operation.
How do you select the grant awardee?
There are no hard-and-fast rules guiding our nonprofit website grant selection process. Basically, we want to see that a nonprofit is doing good work (and has been doing so for at least 3 years). That’s about it! We’re open to nonprofits in any sector and any approach. Bonus points for nonprofits that have a clearly articulated vision for how they’ll leverage their new website to do more good.
What responsibilities do awardees have?
Nothing major! We do ask that grant recipients commit to being a true partner in the process. We want to work together to tell your story; we do not want to make a generic website and call it a day. So that means being available for pre-project strategy sessions, weekly check-ins, and timely inputs from your team (such as feedback or content).
Are there any costs not included in the grant?
As an in-kind nonprofit website grant, the True North program covers the full cost of all of Pixel Lighthouse’s work: strategy, design, messaging, and website development. However, the grant does not cover any fees associated with the website itself or its ongoing marketing (such as website hosting, domain registration, email newsletter platform, font licensing, etc.). These are standard website costs that will be billed directly from the vendor to the grant recipient and generally run about $100 – $300 per year depending on your needs.
